Qancierge
Project Summary
Qancierge is a travel/social app that aims to build a traveler community, connect travelers with the locals wherever they travel, and encourage thoughtful yet spontaneous conversations. As part of the native app design, Qancierge required icons to represent the various cities that the app would support the communities in.

Concept
For the custom city icons we did for Qancierge, the first thing we did was research visual features to best represent each city on the list- unique, iconic and recognizable landmarks, man made or otherwise, that people would be able to connect to the place at a glance.
We kept our colour palette vibrant and lively. The idea was to keep the whole look and feel cheerful and inviting. We slightly simplified our geographical features although not by a lot. In a task like this the complexity comes from the constraints set to be able to translate the naturally varying visuals into one harmonious design language- like working with a strict colour palette for example. So we got around this by focusing on attention to detail. We also made various illustrations highlighting the social travel aspects and gifs for tooltips.
